OLEVA – CREATURE | TUNNISTAMATON TANSSIJA – UNIDENTIFIED DANCER (2006)
Communication between human beings can no longer be separated from the electronic, especially visual communication. Everything happens through the image it gives us.
Electronic media creates continuously renewed uniforms and ready-made examples of identities which have put aside identities that are based on history, tradition or life processes.

These prét-á -porter or ready-made identities that have overwhelmed all personal, are extremely hierarchical and unequal. They are economical activity that aims at the production and selling of images. To them can be associated strong value judgements (glamour, trash, marginalized, pejorative names used of Muslims etc.). The boundaries between these identities are socially almost impossible to exceed and they have emptied the possibilities of any other kind of identity.

Is it possible that people would form communities without demanding its members any particular identity, that being whoever could be the starting point of existing together. CREATURE outlines what the personal space and its emotional life would then be. CREATURE is life in a body as being whoever.
